I went to see the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum in St. Augustine, Florida this past weekend. The current lighthouse was completed in 1874. It rises 165 feet above sea level and contains 219 steps. There is a first order Fresnel lens that serves the beacon. This was an active lighthouse until 1955. Here’s a couple of photos I took while there.
I was in St. Augustine, Florida during the Labor Day weekend and went to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. It was founded in 1893, and is one of Florida’s oldest zoological attractions. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. While I was there I saw Egrets and Roseate Spoonbills nesting in the zoo. Here are a couple of photos I took.
